Content / Composition:
Each capsule contains:
* Fluconazole …… 150 mg
Indications:
Indicated for treatment of fungal infections, including:
* Vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
* Oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis
* Skin and nail fungal infections (dermatophytosis)
* Systemic candidiasis
* Cryptococcal infections (including meningitis)
Dosage:
As directed by the physician.
Typical dosing:
* Vaginal candidiasis: Single dose of 150 mg
* Oropharyngeal candidiasis: 50–100 mg daily for 7–14 days
* Systemic infections: Dose depends on severity (usually 100–400 mg daily)
Contraindications:
* Hypersensitivity to fluconazole or other azole antifungals
* Concomitant use with drugs that prolong QT interval (e.g., certain antiarrhythmics)
Administration:
For oral use.
Can be taken with or without food.
Swallow capsule whole with water.
Interaction:
Fluconazole is a CYP450 inhibitor. Use caution with:
* Warfarin (↑ bleeding risk)
* Phenytoin
* Oral hypoglycemics
* Rifampicin (may reduce efficacy)
* QT-prolonging drugs
Compatibility:
Compatible with most systemic therapies.
Avoid unnecessary combination with hepatotoxic drugs.
Stability / Storage:
Store below 25°C.
Protect from moisture and light.
Keep out of reach of children.
Precautions:
* Use with caution in liver disease
* Monitor liver function in prolonged therapy
* Caution in renal impairment (dose adjustment required)
