Each 5 mL contains:

Indications:
* Amoebiasis (intestinal & hepatic)
* Giardiasis
* Trichomoniasis
* Anaerobic bacterial infections
* Acute diarrhea & dysentery (infective origin)
* Intra-abdominal infections
* Dental infections (anaerobic)
Dosage:
As directed by the physician
Children:
* 20–30 mg/kg/day in divided doses
Adults:
* 400–800 mg, 2–3 times daily depending on infection
Contraindications:
* Hypersensitivity to metronidazole
* First trimester of pregnancy (use with caution)
* Active neurological disorders
Administration:
* Oral use
* Shake well before use
* Take after food to reduce gastric irritation
* Use calibrated measuring device
Interaction:
* Alcohol → severe reaction (Disulfiram-like effect) ❗
* Warfarin → increased anticoagulant effect
* Phenytoin & Phenobarbital → reduced metronidazole levels
* Lithium → increased toxicity
Compatibility:
* Compatible with most antibiotic regimens for mixed infections

Precautions:
