Content / Composition:
Each 5 ml contains:
* Ofloxacin …… 50 mg
* Metronidazole …… 120 mg
* Simethicone …… 10 mg
Available pack: 60 ml oral suspension
Indications:
Indicated for the treatment of mixed bacterial and protozoal gastrointestinal infections, including:
* Acute infectious diarrhea
* Dysentery (amoebic & bacterial)
* Gastroenteritis
* Abdominal infections with gas and bloating
* Traveler’s diarrhea
* Mixed infections of GI tract
Dosage:
As directed by physician.
Typical guidance:
* Children: حسب وزن (weight-based dosing)
* Adults: 5–10 ml, 2–3 times daily
(Dose should be individualized based on severity and age)
Contraindications:
* Hypersensitivity to ofloxacin, metronidazole, or any component
* History of quinolone-associated tendon disorders
* CNS disorders (e.g., epilepsy)
* First trimester of pregnancy
* Severe hepatic impairment
Administration:
For oral use.
Shake well before use.
Take after meals with a full glass of water.
Complete full course as prescribed.
Interaction:
Use caution with:
* Alcohol (contraindicated with metronidazole – causes severe reaction)
* Anticoagulants (↑ bleeding risk)
* Antacids & iron (↓ absorption of ofloxacin)
* CNS-active drugs
* QT-prolonging drugs
Compatibility:
Compatible with supportive therapy such as ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution).
Avoid combining with other antibiotics unless prescribed.
Stability / Storage:
Store below 25°C.
Protect from light.
Do not freeze.
Keep bottle tightly closed.
Precautions:
* Ensure adequate hydration during diarrhea
* Avoid alcohol during treatment and at least 48–72 hours after completion
* Use cautiously in children and elderly
* Monitor for CNS effects (dizziness, seizures – rare)
* Not recommended for unnecessary antibiotic use (avoid resistance)
* Pregnancy & lactation: use only if prescribed
