Content / Composition:
Each delayed-release capsule contains:
* Esomeprazole …… 40 mg
* Enteric-coated pellets (acid-resistant)
* Excipients …… q.s.
Indications:
* Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
* Severe or chronic heartburn
* Erosive esophagitis (healing & maintenance)
* Gastric & duodenal ulcers
* NSAID-associated ulcers
* Zollinger–Ellison syndrome
* H. pylori eradication (in combination therapy)
Dosage:

As directed by the physician
Adults:
* 20–40 mg once daily (standard therapy)
* Severe GERD: 40 mg daily for 4–8 weeks
H. pylori therapy:
* In combination with antibiotics (triple therapy regimen)
Contraindications:

* Hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or other PPIs
* Concomitant use with nelfinavir
Administration:
* Oral use
* Take before meals (preferably morning)
* Swallow whole; do not crush or chew
* Capsule may be opened and pellets mixed with water if needed
Interaction:
May interact with:
* Clopidogrel (reduced effect)
* Warfarin (monitor INR)
* Diazepam
* Phenytoin
May reduce absorption of:
* Ketoconazole
* Iron salts
Compatibility:
* Compatible with antibiotics (H. pylori regimen)
* Can be used with antacids (short-term relief)

Vitamin B12 deficiency
Hypomagnesemia
